Real Madrid looking to sign Mbappe, Camavinga AND Upamecano in 2021 – Report

According to a report by AS, Real Madrid are looking to sign Mbappe, Camavinga and Upamecano in 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic has really affected the world of football, including Real Madrid. For this reason, Los Blancos have ruled out the possibilty of making new signings this summer. They have instead been put on hold until summer 2021.

This situation could turn out to benefit Real Madrid. Both Mbappe and Camavinga’s contracts run out in 2022 and neither have renewed with their respective clubs. It is unlikely that PSG or Stade Rennais will let their star players leave for free, something that plays into Real Madrid’s hands. On the other hand, Upamecano did sign a new contract with Red Bull Leipzig. Curiously, it was just a one year extension.

Real Madrid are looking to freshen up the core of their squad. If they can manage to sign all three players, that would go a long way towards future proofing the team. The signings are definitely not guaranteed and wont be easy by any stretch of the imagination. As long as they don’t renew with their respective clubs, Real Madrid will be fairly confident of securing their targets.
