Player Ratings: Real Madrid 3-3 Manchester City – 2023/24

Real Madrid and Manchester City delivered an unforgettable Champions League encounter with a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Bernabéu on Tuesday.

City took the lead early on with a goal from Bernardo Silva, only for Real Madrid to swiftly turn the tables 10 minutes later. A Ruben Dias own goal and a rapid strike from Rodrygo gave Los Blancos the lead at the break.

The second half was marked by spectacular goals from Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol, and Federico Valverde. Ultimately, the match ended with both teams level, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated return leg at the Etihad next week.

Andriy Lunin: 6/10

Lunin was caught out for Silva’s early goal but could do nothing to deny both Foden and Gvardiol.

Dani Carvajal: 6.5/10

Dani Carvajal had a brilliant first half but his influence faded after the break. Grealish and Gvardiol caused the captain a fair amount of trouble in the second half.

Antonio Rüdiger: 8/10

A commanding defensive display from Rüdiger who marshalled Haaland brilliantly well. The German was rock solid throughout.

Received a booking inside the first minute and is now suspended for the second leg. The Frenchman put in a decent shift after his early error.

Ferland Mendy: 7.5/10

One of Ferland Mendy’s best performance in recent memory. The Frenchman won a number of important duels down the left and had a few brilliant moments on the ball.

Fede Valverde: 8/10

Valverde gave his everything and was full of energy all night. The Uruguayan scored the all-important equaliser with a sensational volley.

Toni Kroos: 7/10

Toni Kroos dominated proceedings from the middle of the park in the first half but wasn’t as influential after the break.

Forced the equaliser with a deflected strike off Ruben Dias. The Frenchman kept things moving and his quick passes were key to Madrid’s counterattacks.

Jude Bellingham: 6.5/10

A frustrating night for the Englishman who didn’t see much of the ball and had little impact on the game.

Vinicius Jr: 7.5/10

Vinicius started upfront tonight and wasn’t very clinical in front of goal but still had a big impact on the game. The Brazilian assisted both Rodrygo and Valverde’s goals.

Rodrygo Goes: 7.5/10

Scored Real Madrid’s second goal after a brilliant counterattack. The Brazilian caused City’s defence all sorts of problems down the left flank.

Luka Modric: 7/10 Came on to replace Toni Kroos. The Croatian’s introduction helped up Madrid’s tempo

Brahim Diaz: 6/10 Came on to replace Rodrygo.

  1. Camavinga’s rating is below belt. He deserves much better than what you gave him. He was my MVP anyways
