Player Ratings: Real Madrid 0-1 Barcelona – Copa del Rey 2022/23
An own goal from Eder Militao gives Barcelona a slim advantage heading into the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final.
Real Madrid always struggle against Barcelona and tonight was no different. This was the Blaugrana’s ninth win in the last 15 games at the Santiago Bernabéu. Los Blancos failed to register a single shot on goal.
Player ratings:
Starting XI:
Thibaut Courtois: 6/10
Made a good save to stop Kessie’s initial shot but couldn’t do much to stop the rebound off Militao.
Dani Carvajal: 3/10
Shaky in defence and had no impact in attack. The Spaniard missed a great chance in the first half after being found by Toni Kroos and just continuously lumped in pointless crosses all game.
Eder Militao: 5/10
Unlucky to have conceded the own goal after the ball deflected off of him when Courtois saved Kessie’s initial shot. The Brazilian was decent in defence and made a number of good runs in attack.
Antonio Rüdiger: 6/10
Barcelona camped in their own half for the majority of the game and thus the German didn’t have much to deal with.
Nacho: 5/10
Vinicius Jr: 4/10
Substitutions:
Rodrygo Goes: 5/10 – Came on to replace Nacho. The Brazilian had no impact on the game.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 5/10 – Came on to replace Toni Kroos with 15 minutes to go.
Alvaro Rodriguez: N/A – Came on to replace Modric. The Uruguayan came close to equalising with the last kick of the game.
