Player Ratings: Real Madrid 0-0 Real Betis – 2023/24

Real Madrid concluded their victorious LaLiga season with a low-key 0-0 draw against Real Betis at the Bernabéu on Saturday evening.

In what marked Toni Kroos’ farewell at the Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid’s attention was visibly diverted. The star players held back, preserving their energy and fitness for the upcoming Champions League final.

Betis had two goals disallowed for offside, but the match seemed destined to end without any goals.

Player ratings:

Starting XI:

Thibaut Courtois: 7/10

Started once again tonight and looks set to start next Saturday’s Champions League final. The Belgian made a number of really good saves and has come back from injury in pretty good form.

Dani Carvajal: 6/10

Carvajal was full of running but was often caught out of position but Betis failed to make the most of it.

Antonio Rüdiger: 7/10

A solid performance from Rüdiger once again who won his one-on-ones and made a number of key interventions.

Nacho Fernandez: 6/10

A rash performance from the captain who made a number of silly challenges. Brought off on the hour mark.

Ferland Mendy: 7/10

Ferland pushed forward regularly and came close to scoring midway through the first half.

Fede Valverde: 7/10

Never stopped running and linked up well with Toni Kroos in the middle of the park.

Eduardo Camavinga: 7/10

Camavinga was energetic in midfield. He moved the ball well but was missing that decisive pass.

Toni Kroos: ∞

Started his last ever game at the Santiago Bernabéu and was greeted with cheers every time he got on the ball. A dominant performance from the German who leaves the beautiful game at the peak of his powers. Legend.

Jude Bellingham: 6.5/10

Definitely not his best performance. Bellingham tried to get involved and put in a decent effort pressing from the front but clearly didn’t push himself too hard with the Champions League final looming.

Rodrygo Goes: 6/10

Rodrygo was active throughout and created a couple of chances but never got any clear goalscoring opportunities.

Vinicius Jr: 6.5/10

The more dynamic of Madrid’s attacking duo. Nearly scored early in the first half and was central to the team’s sporadic moments of danger.

Substitutions:

Eder Militão: 6/10 – Came on to replace Nacho.

Kepa Arrizabalaga: 6/10 – Came on to replace Thibaut Courtois for his last Real Madrid appearance. The Spaniard will return to Chelsea upon the expiry of his loan deal.

Luka Modric: 6/10 – Came on to replace Eduardo Camavinga.

Lucas Vazquez: 6/10 – Came on to replace Dani Carvajal.
