Player Ratings: Mallorca 0-1 Real Madrid – 2023/24

Real Madrid returned to winning ways in LaLiga with a narrow 1-0 win against Mallorca on Saturday evening.

A magnificent goal by Aurélien Tchouaméni from 25 yards out sealed the victory, extending Los Blancos’ lead to 11 points at the summit of LaLiga.

Although Barcelona could reduce the deficit to eight points with a win against Cadiz later on Saturday, it seems increasingly likely that the Spanish title will return to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Player ratings:

Starting XI:

Andriy Lunin: 6/10

Lunin made some important saves throughout the game but his inability to claim crosses nearly cost his side the three points in stoppage time.

Lucas Vazquez: 7/10

Started ahead of Carvajal who was rested ahead of the second leg against Manchester City. The Galician chose the right moments to move forward and did a good job in defence. Solid.

Antonio Rüdiger: 7/10

Another excellent display from Rüdiger who’s been outstanding this season. A rock at the back once again.

Nacho Fernandez: 7/10

A relatively quiet game for the Spaniard who wasn’t troubled all too much.

Ferland Mendy: 7/10

Mendy’s been in great form over the past few weeks and that was the case once again against Mallorca. The Frenchman locked down the left flank and even created a couple of chances.

Fede Valverde: 7/10

Simply did not stop running. The Uruguayan played some wonderful passes, won his tackles, and was a threat in attack. Your typical Fede performance.

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 8/10

The difference-maker for Real Madrid. Tchouaméni started at the base of Madrid’s midfield and scored the winner with a sensational strike from outside the box. The Frenchman also provided excellent cover for his centre backs.

Luka Modric: 7/10

Started against Mallorca after an impressive cameo display against Manchester City on Tuesday. The Croatian controlled the pace of the game and was brought off to a standing ovation from the home crowd.

Jude Bellingham: 6.5/10

Another rather frustrating evening for the Englishman who was unlucky not to have scored after cannoning a strike against the woodwork.

Brahim Diaz: 6.5/10

Brahim was lively in the final third but missed a great opportunity to put the game to bed after being teed up by Modric.

Joselu: 6/10

A rather anonymous display from the Spaniard who had little to no impact on the game.

Substitutions:

Vinicius Jr: 7/10 Came on to replace Brahim Diaz. The Brazilian was very sharp since his introduction and came close to scoring immediately after coming on.

Eduardo Camavinga: 6.5/10 Came on to replace Jude Bellingham. The Frenchman added some much needed energy to the team’s midfield.

Dani Carvajal: N/A Came on to replace Luka Modric late on.

Eder Militão: N/A Came on to replace Vazquez late on.
