Player ratings:
Starting XI:
Thibaut Courtois: 8/10
Made a brilliant save to deny Lewandowski before Real Madrid scored the opener on the counter-attack. Clutch as always.
Dani Carvajal: 7/10
Carvajal has been given massive stick recently, and deservedly so. The Spaniard put that all behind him tonight with a very good second half display. The right-back’s runs forward after the break were excellent.
Eder Militao: 7.5/10
Handled Lewandowski extremely well. The Polish striker had a torrid time up against Militao and barely had a sniff throughout the ninety minutes. Another excellent performance from the Brazilian.
David Alaba: 8/10
Made a number of crucial blocks and interventions to deny Barca. The Austrian has been brilliant since returning from injury.
Eduardo Camavinga: 9/10
Vinicius Jr: 9.5/10
Substitutions:
Marco Asensio: 6/10 – Came on to replace Rodrygo. Came close to scoring after coming on.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: N/A – Came on to replace Luka Modric late on.
Dani Ceballos: N/A – Came on to replace Vinicius late on.
Nacho Fernandez: N/A – Came on to replace Karim Benzema late on.
