Player Ratings: Barcelona 0-4 Real Madrid (1-4 Agg.) – Copa del Rey 2022/23
A Karim Benzema hat-trick leads Real Madrid to their first Copa del Rey final in nine years.
Vinicius Junior opened the scoring just before half time before Karim Benzema scored a sensational second half hat-trick to blow away Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men will now face Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday the 6th of May.
Thibaut Courtois: 8/10
Made a brilliant save to deny Lewandowski before Real Madrid scored the opener on the counter-attack. Clutch as always.
Dani Carvajal: 7/10
Carvajal has been given massive stick recently, and deservedly so. The Spaniard put that all behind him tonight with a very good second half display. The right-back’s runs forward after the break were excellent.
Eder Militao: 7.5/10
Handled Lewandowski extremely well. The Polish striker had a torrid time up against Militao and barely had a sniff throughout the ninety minutes. Another excellent performance from the Brazilian.
David Alaba: 8/10
Made a number of crucial blocks and interventions to deny Barca. The Austrian has been brilliant since returning from injury.
Eduardo Camavinga: 9/10
A surprise start at left-back. The Frenchman put in a sensational shift up against Raphinha, marking the Brazilian completely out of the game. Wonderful performance from the supremely talented youngster.
Luka Modric: 8.5/10
Luka Modric was very quiet in the first half but then showed up as we all expect him to after the break. The Croatian put on a clinic in the second half, registering an assist and completely dominating proceedings in the middle of the park.
Fede Valverde: 7/10
Shored things up in midfield and made sure Modric and Kroos had more freedom to roam forward.
Toni Kroos: 7/10
Barely put a foot wrong and kept things ticking in the middle of the park.
Rodrygo Goes: 7.5/10
Rodrygo didn’t have as much of an impact on the game as his partners in attack but played a key role regardless. The Brazilian sparked a few counter-attacks and created lots of space for Benzema in attack.
Karim Benzema: 10/10
Simply ridiculous. Back-to-back hat-tricks for the Frenchman who’s now scored six goals in two games since the international break. Karim is ready to finish off this season on the highest level possible.
Vinicius Jr: 9.5/10
Araujo who?! Vinicius ran the Uruguayan ragged down the left flank and ended the match with a goal, assist and penalty won. Sensational.
Marco Asensio: 6/10 – Came on to replace Rodrygo. Came close to scoring after coming on.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: N/A – Came on to replace Luka Modric late on.
Dani Ceballos: N/A – Came on to replace Vinicius late on.
Nacho Fernandez: N/A – Came on to replace Karim Benzema late on.
