Vinicius: “We’re going to give our all for the European Super Cup.”

Vinicius Jr. was interviewed by UEFA’s official media, with the Brazilian speaking about the European Super Cup final against Eintracht Frankfurt, the comeback against Manchester City, his goal in the Champions League final and more. Here’s his interview in full:
“It’s important to win as many games as we can, particularly if we want to win major titles like the European Super Cup. We’re getting ready for the season and for the match on 10 August. We’re going to go out there and give our all as we look to win the first title of the season.”
“It’s this club’s and this jersey’s DNA and it always emerges in the important games. Our players know how to tackle games in the Champions League.”
The comeback against Manchester City
“Some games turn into an emotional rollercoaster and we were able to come out on top at home. Rodrygo came on and scored two goals in two minutes to take us into the final. The match against City was the most important moment in the competition.”
Paris final
“It was only right that after a wonderful season, we were crowned champions thanks to the win in the final. I’ve been playing football for over 15 years and you never know when you’ll play a final, so I was looking to enjoy it as much as I could.”
His goal in the Champions League final
“It was a unique feeling. Only players who have scored in this kind of game in the Champions League can really understand how it feels. I can’t describe it. You don’t know how to react, how to tell people about it, there’s no way to explain it. You have to have experienced football and have been through the emotions that we lived last season to know how important it was and how happy it makes you feel.”
Celebration at the Bernabéu for La Decimocuarta
“It’s such a big occasion wearing the most famous jersey in the world and in the biggest competition. The Bernabéu is a special place and especially with our fans; which is why we celebrate as much as we do. We celebrated winning LaLiga a few days earlier and then went on to celebrate the Champions League after a fantastic season.”
Youth and experience
“We got the best out of ourselves as a team during the season. We combined the experience of the older players with the younger players. It was that combination that was the key to winning things last season.”
Linking up with Benzema
“It’s important to influence games and Karim’s been telling me to be brave since I arrived at the club. You have to shoot in order to score or pass to provide an assist. Otherwise, keep the ball. We’ve had a very good connection and have linked up to win a lot of games.”
Strengths
“My biggest strength is dribbling. I always try to dribble. If it doesn’t work, I’ll try again. I always look to get forward as much as possible and provide the team with the best option on the pitch. When I dribble past an opponent, it’s one less for me to get past and one less for everyone else.”
