Real Madrid beat Getafe 6-0 in pre-season friendly
On Tuesday, Real Madrid played their one and only pre-season friendly. The match against Getafe was not broadcast or commented on by either side. According to MARCA, Real Madrid beat Getafe 6-0 with all goals coming in the first half. Benzema managed to score four goals with Sergio Ramos and Sergio Arribas the other goalscorers.
Both sides took the game as a training session to help improve fitness ahead of their LaLiga openers this weekend. Asensio, Isco, Odegaard, Jovic and Hazard are still recovering so they didn’t feature in the friendly.
Real Madrid were due to play against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday 9 September, however that match was cancelled due to a Rayo player’s pending COVID-19 test. For that reason, Real Madrid will return to LaLiga action on Sunday with just one match under their belts.
