Player Ratings: Real Madrid 4-1 Villarreal – 2023/24
Real Madrid cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win against Villarreal at the Bernabéu on Sunday thanks to goals from Bellingham, Rodrygo, Brahim and Luka Modric.
The win has resulted in Carlo Ancelotti’s men regaining their position as league leaders. Second-placed Girona who have a game in hand will face Alaves on Monday.
Andriy Lunin: 6.5/10
Started ahead of Kepa once again. The Ukrainian had a quiet game in goal and should’ve arguably done better to stop Morales’ goal after getting a touch on the ball.
Lucas Vazquez: 7.5/10
Vazquez notched an assist and put in a very good performance in Carvajal’s absence.
Antonio Rüdiger: 7/10
A rather easy outing for the German who had very little to do.
David Alaba: 6/10
Came off in the first half with what looks to be a worrying injury. Post-match tests have confirmed the Austrian has torn the ACL in his left knee.
Ferland Mendy: 6/10
Mendy put in a solid shift in the first half before coming off at the break due to injury.
Fede Valverde: 7.5/10
Fede Valverde ran his socks off and put in another tireless performance in the middle of the park. Real Madrid’s unsung hero.
Toni Kroos: 7.5/10
Another excellent display from the German who was excellent on the ball, completing 85/90 (94%) of his passes.
Luka Modric: 9/10
A near perfect performance from the timeless Croatian who assisted Bellingham’s opener with a brilliant cross before scoring his first goal of the season with a well-taken goal of his own in the second half. A joy to watch.
Jude Bellingham: 8/10
Scored his seventeenth goal of the season with a brilliant header after being found by a sensational cross from Modric. The Englishman was at the heart of everything positive for Real Madrid once again as he continues to take LaLiga by storm.
Brahim Diaz: 8/10
Brahim scored his fourth goal of the season with a stunning solo goal. The Spaniard has been in excellent form since Vinicius’ injury and has taken full advantage of the game time given to him.
Rodrygo Goes: 8/10
Rodrygo continued his excellent form with his tenth goal of the season. The Brazilian was a constant threat once again.
Nacho Fernandez: 6/10 – Came on to replace the injured Alaba. The Captain put in a solid shift.
Fran Garcia: 6/10 – Came on to replace the injured Mendy. The Spaniard continued his good form with another decent showing.
Dani Ceballos: 6/10 – Came on to replace Bellingham.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: N/A – Came on to replace Toni Kroos after two months on the sidelines.
Joselu: N/A – Came on to replace Brahim Diaz late on.
