Player Ratings: Real Madrid 4-0 Elche – 2022/23
Real Madrid defeat Elche at the Santiago Bernabéu in style, cutting the gap to leaders Barcelona to eight points.
Marco Asensio broke the deadlock for Real Madrid after just eight minutes. Karim Benzema then put the game to bed in the first half, slotting away two penalties to give the hosts a 3-0 lead at the break.
Luka Modric added a fourth with ten minutes to go, rounding off a brilliant team performance.
Andriy Lunin: 6/10
Third consecutive start for the Ukrainian. Lunin had a very quiet night in goal with Elche failing to register a single shot on target.
Dani Carvajal: 7.5/10
With barely any defending to do, Carvajal was on the attack all night. The Spaniard assisted Asensio for the opener and was always an outlet on the right side.
Eder Militao: 7.5/10
Back in the starting lineup after recovering from injury. The Brazilian had little to no defending to do which led him to join the attack. The team is so much better with Militao in it.
Another solid display from the ever reliable Spaniard.
David Alaba: 7.5/10
Very good performance from Alaba at left-back. The Austrian had the freedom of the left flank and he made full use of it with good crosses and great support for Rodrygo.
Fede Valverde: 7/10
Fresh off the back of scoring three goals in his last two games, Valverde started again tonight but this time in midfield. The Uruguayan barely put a foot wrong throughout his time on the pitch.
Eduardo Camavinga: 7.5/10
Another start for the Frenchman who’s importance in the team has grown massively over the past few weeks. Camavinga was the defensive midfielder in Madrid’s three man midfield and he dominated the middle of the park with his strength, technicality and energy.
Dani Ceballos: 7.5/10
The transformation that Ceballos has been through over the last month or so is nothing short of extraordinary. Another excellent shift from the Spaniard who’s in the form of his life at the moment.
Marco Asensio: 7.5/10
Opened the scoring with a brilliant solo goal. The Spaniard has been in decent form in front of goal lately and added another to his tally tonight.
Karim Benzema: 8.5/10
Scored two goals from the penalty spot which moved him up to second in the list of Real Madrid’s highest scorers in LaLiga. Good performance from the Frenchman who didn’t really get out of first gear.
Rodrygo Goes: 8/10
Started in place of the suspended Vinicius. Rodrygo put in an excellent performance down the left flank, causing Elche all sorts of problems all night. The Brazilian showed brilliant footwork to evade his markers and won the second penalty of the night.
Alvaro Odriozola: 6.5/10 – Came on to replace Carvajal. Decent shift from the Spaniard.
Luka Modric: 7.5/10 – Came on to replace Ceballos. The Croatian scored a brilliant goal to round off the scoring.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 7/10 – Came on to replace Valverde. The Frenchman picked up where Valverde left off.
Mariano Diaz: 6/10 – Came on to replace Benzema.
Sergio Arribas: 6/10 – Came on to replace Asensio. More first team minutes under his belt.
