Player Ratings: Real Madrid 3-2 Inter
Real Madrid secured their first win in this seasons Champions League winning 3-2 winners over Inter on Tuesday night. Karim Benzema opened the scoring for Real Madrid before Sergio Ramos doubled Madrid’s lead moments later for his 100th goal for the Merengues.
Inter quickly clawed one back through Lautaro Martinez. Ivan Perisic then scored in the second half to make it 2-2. Substitute Rodrygo Goes fired home the winner for Real Madrid with a few minutes left play. After Inter had hauled themselves back into the game, the introduction of Rodrygo and Vinicius swung the match in Real Madrid’s favour. These are our player ratings:
Thibaut Courtois: 6/10
Couldn’t do much to prevent either goal.
Lucas Vazquez: 7/10
Another solid performance from the Galician at right-back. Was solid defensively and also contributed in attack.
Raphael Varane: 7/10
Still doesn’t look quite right in the Champions League. The Frenchman looks low on confidence.
Sergio Ramos: 7/10
Dragged out of position for both of Inter’s goals. The Captain scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid. What a record.
Ferland Mendy: 7/10
Marked Hakimi out of the game completely. The Frenchman continues to be solid at the back.
Fede Valverde: 7/10
Another excellent performance from Fede. Broke through the lines with his passing and always a willing runner with and without the ball.
Subpar performance. The Brazilian kept losing the ball and his passing was off all night.
Toni Kroos: 7/10
Assisted Ramos for the second goal. Wasn’t as influential as he normally is.
Marco Asensio: 6/10
After missing a chance very early on, it was barely noticeable that the Spaniard was still on the pitch.
Karim Benzema: 7/10
Opened the scoring for Real Madrid after capitalising on Hakimi’s back pass. Missed a clear-cut chance late that would have killed the game.
Eden Hazard: 7/10
Created a great chance for Asensio early on. Was substituted after receiving a rough tackle in the second-half.
Luka Modric: 6/10 – Came on and added some spark to the midfield.
Vinicius Jr: 7/10 – Came on to replace Hazard. Added so much pace and directness to Real Madrid’s attack. Assisted Rodrygo for the winner.
Rodrygo: 7/10 – Came on and won the match for Real Madrid with a beautiful finish. The young Brazilian enjoys playing in the Champions League.
