Player Ratings: Real Madrid 2-0 Las Palmas – 2023/24

Real Madrid returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win over Las Palmas in LaLiga at the Bernabéu on Wednesday night.
Brahim Diaz broke the deadlock in first half stoppage time in which Las Palmas goalkeeper Alvaro Valles put in an inspired performance. Joselu doubled Los Blancos’ advantage right after the break as Real Madrid cruised to victory.
The win means that Los Blancos leapfrog Barcelona into second place, but stay behind surprise leaders Girona who they face on Saturday.
Player ratings:
Starting XI:
Kepa Arrizabalaga: 6/10
A very quiet night for the Spaniard who had very little to do throughout the ninety minutes.
Nacho Fernandez: 7/10
Nacho put in a solid shift in both defense and attack. The Captain played at centre-back when Alaba was subbed off through injury and was barely challenged.
Antonio Rüdiger: 7.5/10
Decent performance from the German who didn’t put a foot wrong. Ended the game with a knock.
David Alaba: 6/10
Alaba had a pretty quiet game before he picked up an injury just before half time. Ancelotti confirmed after the game that he would miss Saturday’s match against Girona.
Ferland Mendy: 7/10
Rodrygo Goes: 7/10
Another rather frustrating night in front of goal for the Brazilian. Rodrygo was always active and tried to make things happen but lacked that final touch that he’s been desperately looking for.
Joselu: 7.5/10
Substitutions:
Lucas Vazquez: 7/10 – Came on to replace the injured Alaba. The Galician assisted Brahim for the opener.
Dani Ceballos: 7/10 – Came on to replace Brahim for his first appearance of the season. The Spaniard was brilliant during his 25 minutes on the pitch.
Vinicius Jr: 6/10 – Came on to replace Joselu. The Brazilian made his comeback after a month on the sidelines and looked a little rusty.
Toni Kroos: 6.5/10 – Came on to replace Camavinga. The German pinged the ball effortlessly during his time on the pitch.
Fran Garcia: 6/10 – Came on to replace Ferland Mendy.
