Player ratings:

Starting XI:

Andriy Lunin: 7/10

A very quiet night for the Ukrainian who only faced one shot on target.

Lucas Vazquez: 7/10

Scored early on only for the goal to be ruled out. The Galician provided lots of width down the right flank.

Antonio Rüdiger: 7/10

Back in the starting line-up after two weeks on the sidelines. The German put in a solid shift and greatly helped the team out in defence.

Nacho Fernandez: 6.5/10

A decent shift from the Spaniard who was assured at the back. Made the foul which forced the referee to disallow Vazquez’s first half goal.

Ferland Mendy: 7/10

Another solid performance from Mendy who didn’t put a foot wrong throughout.

Fede Valverde: 7.5/10

Hit the post in the second half and put in an excellent shift in the middle of the park. Another tireless performance from the Uruguayan.

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 7/10

Tchouaméni ended the game with a ridiculous pass accuracy of 98%. Despite his accuracy on the ball, the Frenchman should’ve had more impact on the game.

Toni Kroos: 8/10

Fresh off announcing his return to the German national team, Toni Kroos put in another wonderful display in midfield. The German had a 94% pass accuracy and kept the team ticking.

Brahim Diaz: 6/10

Brahim Diaz had a few bright moments down the right flank in the first half but failed to make much of an impact on the game.

Rodrygo Goes: 6/10

Rodrygo was lively on the ball, and created a few chances but was far too predictable.

Vinicius Junior: 7/10

Real Madrid’s liveliest attacker once again. The Brazilian was excellent in one-on-one situations and forced Nyland to make some very good saves.

Luka Modric: 8/10 – Came on to replace Nacho. The Croatian scored the winner with a stunning effort from outside the box. Incredible.

Dani Ceballos: N/A – Came on to replace Brahim late on.

Alvaro Rodriguez: N/A – Came on to replace Rodrygo late on.
