Player Ratings: Real Madrid 1-0 Getafe – 2022/23
Real Madrid returned to winning ways in LaLiga on Saturday with a solid 1-0 win against Getafe thanks to a long range strike from Asensio.
Los Blancos started slowly but dominated in the second half and will now focus on the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Manchester City.
Thibaut Courtois: 7/10
Made a great reflex save in the second half but other than that it was a very quiet game for the Belgian.
Lucas Vazquez: 8/10
Very good performance from the Galician who assisted Asensio’s winner. Vazquez was constantly up and down the right flank and was impressive in attack.
Eder Militao: 7/10
Solid performance from Militao who didn’t put a foot wrong and was barely challenged throughout.
Just like Militao, Nacho was solid throughout the ninety minutes.
Ferland Mendy: 7/10
The Frenchman’s first start in nearly two months. Great to finally see him back.
Dani Ceballos: 7/10
Back in the lineup after missing the last two games through injury. The Spaniard didn’t have much impact on the game but put in a solid shift.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 8/10
Tchouaméni’s best performance in months. The Frenchman was excellent on and off the ball showing exactly why Madrid spent so much on him.
Eduardo Camavinga: 7/10
Started in midfield and put in a solid shift before he picked up a worrying knock late on. Ancelotti confirmed after the game that he should be fine, let’s hope that’s the case because he will be needed against City.
Fede Valverde: 6/10
Started on the right wing in Rodrygo’s absence. The Uruguayan had very little impact on the game and was replaced by Modric on the hour mark.
Marco Asensio: 8/10
Scored Madrid’s winner with a brilliant strike from outside the box. The Spaniard is having his best season in-front of goal, registering 20 goal contributions so far this season.
Eden Hazard: 6/10
Started his first game in LaLiga since September 2022. The Belgian was poor in the first half but improved somewhat after the break.
Toni Kroos: 7.5/10 – Came on to replace Mendy after the break. The German was brilliant since coming on and completely changed the game for Madrid.
Luka Modric: 7/10 – Came on to replace Valverde on the hour mark. The Croatian’s introduction helped Real Madrid create more chances.
Vinícius Jr: 7/10 – Came on to replace Hazard. The Brazilian scored but it was ruled out for offside.
Mariano Diaz: 6/10 – Came on to replace Ceballos. The striker assisted Vinicius for Madrid’s second but his delayed pass meant it was chalked off for offside.
Alvaro Odriozola: N/A – Came on to replace Camavinga late on.
