Player Ratings: Real Madrid 0-1 Cadiz

Real Madrid suffered their first loss of the LaLiga season. Zidane’s side were clearly not at the races as Cádiz won away against Los Blancos for the first time in their 110-year history. These are our player ratings:

Starting XI:

Thibaut Courtois: 5/10

Didn’t have much to do throughout the game. Could’ve done better to prevent the goal.

Nacho: 4/10

Not the best of performances on a night in which his brother, Alex Fernandez, shined.

Raphael Varane: 5/10

Did his job well whenever he needed to. Should have scored with a free header in the first-half.

Sergio Ramos: 4/10

An uninspiring performance from the captain. Looked sloppy and was caught out of position for Cadiz’s goal. Was replaced at half-time with a knock to his knee.

Marcelo: 4/10

Not his usual self. Didn’t contribute much going forward despite not having much defensive work to do.

Isco: 4/10

Awful performance from the Spaniard. Constantly slowed down the tempo and couldn’t pick out the right passes. Was replaced at half-time.

Luka Modrić: 4/10

A shadow of his last performance against Levante. Looked fatigued. Was replaced at half-time.

Toni Kroos: 5/10

You know it’s a tough day at the office when Kroos isn’t playing at his best. Clearly lacking match fitness after his recent injury.

Lucas Vazquez: 4/10

Subpar performance. Looked devoid of ideas in attack. Simply not good enough.

Karim Benzema: 4/10

Being one of the few players who didn’t go on international duty, you’d expect the Frenchman to be fresh and ready. Far from that, he was very sloppy and way off pace. Disappointing from Karim.

Vinicius Jr: 4/10

Lacked his usual threat and drive. An uncharacteristic performance.

Substitutions:

Asensio: 5/10 – Didn’t affect the game since coming on.

Valverde: 5/10 – Added some extra drive and grit to the midfield but it wasn’t enough to make an impact.

Casemiro: 5/10 – Helped improve the team’s shape but couldn’t do much to help turn things around.

Militao: 6/10 – Didn’t put a foot wrong. Solid performance from the Brazilian.

Luka Jovic: 5/10 – Scored after coming on but it was rightly disallowed for offside. Didn’t have any noticeable chances.
