Player Ratings: Real Betis 0-0 Real Madrid – 2022/23

Real Madrid are held to a disappointing draw by Real Betis on Sunday as they failed to find the net for the second consecutive game.

The result means that Real Madrid are now nine points adrift of league leaders Barcelona who will feel confident they can increase that gap to twelve points when the two teams faceoff in two weeks time.

Player ratings:

Starting XI:

Thibaut Courtois: 8/10

Real Madrid would’ve lost today had it not been for Courtois. The Belgian made a number of unbelievable saves and deserved a lot more from tonight’s game.

Lucas Vazquez: 5/10

Replaced Dani Carvajal in the starting lineup. The Galician struggled defensively and offered nothing going forward.

Eder Militao: 7/10

One of the few players who have shown any sort of consistency this season. The Brazilian made a number of big tackles and was excellent at playing the ball out from the back.

Antonio Rüdiger: 6/10

A decent performance from Rüdiger who did what he needed to. Unlucky to have seen Benzema’s goal disallowed after it struck his arm.

Eduardo Camavinga: 6/10

Started at left-back once again. The Frenchman was one of the few bright spots for Madrid tonight.

Fede Valverde: 5/10

Started in place of the suspended Modric. The Uruguayan had a few shots on goal but didn’t really impact the game.

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 5/10

Back in the starting lineup. The Frenchman put in a decent shift but his passes were often the safe option.

Toni Kroos: 6/10

Toni Kroos created a number of good chances that his teammates couldn’t take advantage of. The German kept things ticking in midfield.

Rodrygo Goes: 6/10

Rodrygo was Real Madrid’s liveliest attacker on the pitch but the Brazilian couldn’t quite find the killer touch.

Karim Benzema: 4/10

Another quiet night for the Frenchman who failed to have any sort of impact on the game. Real Madrid’s poor squad planning has ran Karim into the ground.

Vinicius Jr: 5/10

Vinicius often tries to do too much on his own and tonight was an example of that. The Brazilian couldn’t make things happen in the final third.

Substitutions:

Dani Carvajal: 7/10 Came on to replace Lucas Vazquez. The Spaniard put in a good shift after being brought on, impressing both offensively and defensively.

Nacho: N/A Came on to replace Camavinga.

Dani Ceballos: N/A Came on to replace Tchouaméni.

Alvaro Rodriguez: N/A Came on to replace Toni Kroos.
