Player Ratings: Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

Real Madrid miss the chance to go top of LaLiga after being held to a 0-0 draw with Osasuna. After much debate about whether the game would be played, the game went ahead. Real Madrid were not happy about playing and will undoubtedly be further enraged after dropping two important points.

Real Madrid started extremely slowly, failing to register a single shot on target in the first-half. Madrid finally managed to score on the hour mark but the goal was correctly disallowed for offside. Real Madrid then scored again late on but it was again correctly disallowed for offside.

Los Blancos are now one point behind league leaders Atletico Madrid. The Colchoneros do however have three games in hand. These are our player ratings:

Starting XI:

Thibaut Courtois: 7/10

Courtois was very alert throughout the game. The Belgian made a couple of very good saves earning himself a deserved clean sheet.

Lucas Vazquez: 7/10

Solid defensively but lacked any threat going forward.

Raphael Varane: 7/10

Very solid performance from Varane. The Frenchman did his job and he did it well.

Sergio Ramos: 7/10

Didn’t have much to do defensively but was focused throughout. Scored what he thought was the winner late on before it was correctly ruled out for offside.

Ferland Mendy: 7/10

With Osasuna happy to sit back, Ferland was constantly looking for opportunities to attack and put crosses into the box.

Toni Kroos: 7/10

Failed to really impose himself on the game like he usually does.

Casemiro: 7/10

Real Madrid’s best player in what was a rather dull team performance. The Brazilian was alert and made a few key interceptions to deny Osasuna having a chance on goal.

Luka Modric: 7/10

Modric has become Real Madrid’s most important player recently, and when he isn’t at his best it shows. Luka didn’t look himself tonight and that was evident from Madrid’s performance.

Marco Asensio: 6/10

Tried to get things moving in attack but it didn’t happen for him. Asensio was Madrid’s most active player in attack but that wasn’t enough to find a goal for the team.

Karim Benzema: 6/10

A very disappointing night for the Frenchman. Karim barely had a sniff throughout, and when he did, he was caught offside.

Eden Hazard: 6/10

Started for the first time in six weeks. The Belgian looked a little cautious with the playing surface in very poor condition.

Substitutions:

Valverde: 5/10 Came on to replace Asensio but couldn’t affect the game.

Isco: 5/10 Came on to replace Modric. The Spaniard looked very sharp since coming on.

Mariano: 5/10 Came on to replace Eden Hazard as Madrid looked to find a goal.
