Player Ratings: Las Palmas 1-2 Real Madrid – 2023/24
Real Madrid secured yet another dramatic victory in LaLiga on Saturday, overturning a deficit to triumph 2-1 against Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.
Without the presence of the suspended Jude Bellingham, Madrid found themselves trailing in the 53rd minute. Vinicius Junior swiftly equalised with a brilliant finish after being found by a wonderful dinked pass from Camavinga.
It wasn’t until the 84th minute, just moments after entering the game as a substitute, that Aurélien Tchouaméni secured the win with a powerful header.
This hard-fought win propels Madrid back to the top of the LaLiga standings, with a two-point lead over Girona.
Andriy Lunin: 6/10
Not much Lunin could’ve done to stop Munoz’s opener. The Ukranian didn’t look very confident with the ball at his feet.
Dani Carvajal: 6/10
Carvajal wasn’t as convincing as he has been throughout this season but the Spaniard did put in a decent shift down the right flank.
Antonio Rüdiger: 6/10
Rüdiger wasn’t as defensively solid this time out. The German was exploited far too easily in the build-up to Las Palmas’ goal in the second half.
Nacho Fernandez: 5/10
Another disappointing performance from the Captain. Nacho Let Munoz run across him too easily and was the weak point out of Madrid’s back four.
Fran Garcia: 6.5/10
Fran put in a very good shift in attack, putting in a few excellent crosses but was often caught out a bit too easily in defence.
Dani Ceballos: 5/10
A mediocre performance from the Spaniard who didn’t offer much at all throughout his time on the pitch.
Toni Kroos: 8/10
Another excellent display from the German who dominated proceedings in the middle of the park, completing 95% of his passes. Assisted Tchouaméni’s winner with a brilliant corner.
Eduardo Camavinga: 7.5/10
Assisted Vinicius’ equaliser with a sensational dinked ball over the top of Las Palmas’ defence. Brilliant shift from the Frenchman.
Brahim Diaz: 5/10
Brahim was tasked with replacing the suspended Bellingham. The Spaniard has been bright over the past few weeks but was completely anonymous in this game.
Rodrygo Goes: 5/10
Another poor performance from Rodrygo who’s struggling for form at the moment. A forgettable performance.
Vinicius Jr: 7.5/10
Real Madrid’s most active player in attack. The Brazilian equalised with a brilliant finish and was unstoppable in the second half.
Joselu: 6/10 – Came on to replace Brahim Diaz.
Fede Valverde: 6.5/10 – Came on to replace Dani Ceballos.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 7/10 – Came on to replace Camavinga. The birthday boy scored the winner with a brilliant header.
Arda Güler: N/A – Came on to replace Rodrygo for his LaLiga debut.
Ferland Mendy: N/A – Came on to replace Vinicius late on.
