Player Ratings: Getafe 0-0 Real Madrid

An injury plagued Real Madrid fail to find a way past a solid Getafe side, dropping two points in the process. Zinedine Zidane’s side came into this game with just twelve first team players available which undoubtedly played a big part.
Getafe started off the better side, with the hosts testing Courtois more than the Belgian would’ve liked. Los Blancos dominated possession but only mustered two shots on target. Real Madrid couldn’t find the goal they wanted but Zidane will likely be happy with the effort from his side. Real Madrid now find themselves three points behind city rivals Atletico Madrid and two points ahead of Barcelona who have a game in hand. These are our player ratings:
Starting XI:
Thibaut Courtois: 10/10
The main reason Real Madrid managed to salvage a draw out of this game. The Belgian put in a brilliant display, saving everything that Getafe threw at him.
Alvaro Odriozola: 6/10
Not the best of performances from Odriozola. The right-back didn’t have the worst game but made a couple of odd choices when he found himself in decent positions to cross.
Eder Militao: 9/10
The best performer for Real Madrid alongside Thibaut Courtois. The Brazilian did not put a foot wrong and was crucial for Los Blancos’ clean sheet. Brilliant display.
Victor Chust: 7/10
Marcelo: 7/10
Isco: 7/10
Having been given a rare start, it was down to Isco to make the difference today. The Spaniard had a few decent passes and touches on the ball but didn’t really create any chances for Real Madrid’s attackers.
Luka Modric: 8/10
With Casemiro, Kroos and Valverde all missing, it was down to Modric to get things moving in midfield. The Croatian played a lot deeper than usual but that didn’t stop him from showing his class.
Asensio: 6/10
With Casemiro and Valverde missing and Zidane opting to rest Toni Kroos, Asensio was tasked with a midfield role. The Spaniard could not impact the game at all and was eventually replaced by Arribas.
Rodrygo: 6/10
Mariano Diaz: 7/10
Vinicius Jr: 6/10
Karim Benzema: 6/10 – Came on to replace Mariano around the hour mark. The Frenchman was introduced to find the winning goal but little to no chances were created for the striker.
Antonio Blanco: 7/10 – Came on to replace Rodrygo for his LaLiga debut. The Real Madrid youth product was introduced as Zidane looked to add more balance to the middle of the park for the closing stages.
Sergio Arribas: 6/10 – Came on to replace Asensio with 10 minutes to go.
