Player Ratings: Cadiz 0-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid return to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 victory away to Cadiz. The win sees Los Blancos move into top spot ahead of Atletico Madrid who have a game in hand.
Karim Benzema opened the scoring for Real Madrid from the penalty spot after Vinicius had been brought down by Iza. Three minutes later, Alvaro Odriozola headed in Benzema’s cross to double Real Madrid’s lead. Four minutes before the half time, Benzema made sure the game was all but over as he headed in Madrid’s third of the night following a cross from Casemiro. These are our player ratings:
Starting XI:
Thibaut Courtois: 7/10
A much quieter night than the one he had against Getafe a few days ago. Thibaut was barely tested in goal and earned a deserved clean sheet.
Alvaro Odriozola: 8/10
A much improved performance from Odriozola. The right-back didn’t have the best of games against Getafe but made sure to repay Zidane’s faith tonight. Alvaro scored Madrid’s second goal, his first ever in LaLiga, and was a threat down the right flank during his time on the pitch.
Eder Militao: 8/10
Kept his excellent form going with another solid display. The Brazilian is oozing with confidence and Cadiz did not manage to create any trouble for him at all.
Raphael Varane: 7/10
Marcelo: 7/10
Casemiro: 8/10
Playing in a double pivot alongside Blanco, Casemiro put in another brilliant shift. Real Madrid missed the Brazilian’s influence against Getafe but he was back tonight, in the absence of Modric, Kroos and Valverde, to guide Real Madrid to another three points.
Antonio Blanco: 8/10
His first start for Real Madrid in LaLiga. The young Spaniard was excellent on the ball and showed great composure and maturity throughout his time on the pitch. A very promising performance.
Rodrygo: 7/10
Karim Benzema: 10/10
Vinicius Jr: 7/10
Dani Carvajal: 6/10 – Came on to replace Varane. The right-back is finally back in action after nearly three months out through injury. Zidane will be delighted to have him back.
Isco: 6/10 – Came on to replace Odriozola. The Spaniard was introduced to add some fresh legs and see the game out.
Marco Asensio: 6/10 – Came on to replace Vinicius around the hour mark. The Spaniard came on as Zidane looked to give Vinicius some rest.
Mariano: 6/10 – Came on to replace Benzema with around 15 minutes to go.
Miguel Gutiérrez: 6/10 – Came on to replace Marcelo for the closing stages of the game. Good to see the talented left-back get some minutes with the first team.
