Player Ratings: Cadiz 0-2 Real Madrid – 2022/23
Real Madrid return to winning ways in LaLiga with a 2-0 win away to Cadiz thanks to quickfire goals from Nacho and Asensio.
The result means that Real Madrid temporarily cut the gap between them and league leaders Barcelona to 10 points. Xavi’s men face Getafe on Sunday.
Thibaut Courtois: 7/10
Easiest clean sheet the Belgian will ever get. A spectator throughout.
Lucas Vazquez: 6.5/10
With Cadiz not creating anything, Vazquez had a lot of time and space to roam forward and add width to the attack but didn’t make the most of it.
Eder Militao: 8/10
With barely any defending to do, Militao played high up the pitch. The Brazilian’s passing was sensational with the highlight being one where he picked out Rodrygo with a sensational raking pass over the top. World class.
Antonio Rüdiger: 7/10
Pretty quiet game for the German who had no defending to do.
Started the game at left-back and ended it at right-back. The Spaniard scored the all-important opener with a brilliant shot from outside the box.
Fede Valverde: 7/10
A relatively quiet performance from the Uruguayan. Fede assisted Asensio for Madrid’s second of the night.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 7/10
Tchouaméni struggled to get going and was sloppy on the ball but improved after the break. The Frenchman assisted Nacho for the opener.
Dani Ceballos: 7.5/10
Real Madrid’s best midfielder on the night. The Spaniard was very positive and forward thinking with his play which helped the team create a boatload of chances.
Marco Asensio: 8.5/10
Another goal for the in-form Spaniard. Asensio scored Madrid’s second goal of the game and was a constant threat throughout the game. Some of the link-up play between him and Benzema in the first half was mouthwatering.
Karim Benzema: 7.5/10
Linked up brilliantly with Asensio and Rodrygo. The Frenchman hit the woodwork a couple of times and was extremely unlucky to not have found the back of the net.
Rodrygo Goes: 8/10
Very good performance from Rodrygo who did everything but score. The Brazilian was superb down the left flank and really deserved a goal in what was his 100th LaLiga appearance for Real Madrid.
Eduardo Camavinga: 7/10 – Came on to replace Vazquez. The Frenchman slotted in nicely and put in a solid shift at left-back.
Luka Modric: N/A – Came on to replace Valverde late on.
Eden Hazard: N/A – Came on to replace Rodrygo late on.
