Player ratings:
Starting XI:
Andriy Lunin: 8/10
Should’ve done a lot better for Arribas’ opener but the Ukrainian more than made up for it with a string of excellent saves in the first-half.
Dani Carvajal: 7/10
Carvajal continued his good start to the season with another solid performance. The Spaniard defended well down the right and was a good outlet in attack.
Antonio Rüdiger: 7/10
Started for the first time this season in place of the injured Militão. The German didn’t do much wrong and made a brilliant block to deny Almeria in the first-half.
David Alaba: 7/10
Not as good as he was against Athletic Club but the Austrian put in a decent shift.
Fran Garcia: 7/10
Jude Bellingham: 10/10
Rodrygo Goes: 6.5/10
Vinicius Jr: 7.5/10
Substitutions:
Eduardo Camavinga: 6/10 – Came on to replace Rodrygo as Ancelotti looked to add fresh legs to the middle of the park.
Luka Modric: 7/10 – Came on to replace Toni Kroos. The Croatian oozed class every time he got on the ball.
Joselu: N/A – Came on to replace Bellingham late on.
Brahim Diaz: N/A – Came on to replace Vinicius late on.
Lucas Vazquez: N/A – Came on to replace Valverde late on.
