Player Ratings: Almeria 1-3 Real Madrid – 2023/24

A Jude Bellingham masterclass ensured Real Madrid continued their winning start to the season as Ancelotti’s men saw off Almeria 3-1 on Saturday.

Real Madrid’s new number five scored two goals and registered an assist, inspiring his team to a second win on the bounce.

Player ratings:

Starting XI:

Andriy Lunin: 8/10

Should’ve done a lot better for Arribas’ opener but the Ukrainian more than made up for it with a string of excellent saves in the first-half.

Dani Carvajal: 7/10

Carvajal continued his good start to the season with another solid performance. The Spaniard defended well down the right and was a good outlet in attack.

Antonio Rüdiger: 7/10

Started for the first time this season in place of the injured Militão. The German didn’t do much wrong and made a brilliant block to deny Almeria in the first-half.

David Alaba: 7/10

Not as good as he was against Athletic Club but the Austrian put in a decent shift.

Fran Garcia: 7/10

Fran Garcia is still adapting to his new surroundings and that was clear for the majority of the game. The Spaniard will get there with time. Improved significantly after the break.

Fede Valverde: 7.5/10

Fede’s always been an engine and hard worker on the pitch and that’s exactly what he was again tonight. The Uruguayan buzzed around with plenty of energy and did his best to try and make something happen.

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 7.5/10

Another very good performance from the Frenchman who’s making the most of every minute he’s given. Solid.

Toni Kroos: 8/10

Scored in the first-half only for it to be chalked off for a foul by Carvajal in the build-up. The German assisted Bellingham’s second goal with a sensational ball over Almeria’s defence.

Jude Bellingham: 10/10

Scored for the second consecutive game, becoming the first player since Cristiano Ronaldo to accomplish that feat. The Englishman equalised with a well taken finish in the first-half before giving his team the lead after the break. Jude also assisted Vini’s goal before being brought off. 3 goals and 1 assist in 2 games, what a start to his Madrid career.

Rodrygo Goes: 6.5/10

A tough game for the Brazilian who couldn’t quite get going. Rodrygo worked hard off the ball but didn’t have much of an impact in attack.

Vinicius Jr: 7.5/10

Caused a lot of issues for Almeria in the first-half but didn’t have many chances in front of goal. The Brazilian improved after the break and put the game to bed with a sensational goal after being found by Bellingham.

Substitutions:

Eduardo Camavinga: 6/10 Came on to replace Rodrygo as Ancelotti looked to add fresh legs to the middle of the park.

Luka Modric: 7/10 Came on to replace Toni Kroos. The Croatian oozed class every time he got on the ball.

Joselu: N/A Came on to replace Bellingham late on.

Brahim Diaz: N/A Came on to replace Vinicius late on.

Lucas Vazquez: N/A Came on to replace Valverde late on.
